“I want to use it more broadly while keeping the rich overtone cut and feel characteristic of cowhide.” This "1.5mm" model, made with Italian leather, was born from such a desire.
By moderately reducing the mute effect compared to 2.0mm cowhide, it maintains the attack and delicate ghost note response. It creates a thick, enveloping, high-quality low-pitch tone for songs like pop, ballads, and neo-soul.
Even high-pitched snares can instantly change their sound quality by simply placing this on top. It dramatically expands the range of tones with a single instrument.
A carabiner magnet is standard equipment to prevent slipping during performance.
It can be attached and detached with a single touch between the drum tuning key and the tension bolt, allowing for smooth sound changes between songs.
